The AILEEN National Conference 2025 successfully took place in Turkey on October 14, 2025.The conference was organized in collaboration
with TUSAŞ and KATAMER at Middle East Technical University (METU), solidifying the vital link between industry and academia.
The event gathered leading experts, industry representatives, and students from the Aerospace and Defence (A&D) sectors. Distinguished
speakers included Dr. Tuba Karahan (IWE), Dr. İlhan Şen, Tansu Göynük, and Ulaş Yaman from major Turkish organizations like TUSAŞ,
ROKETSAN, and METU.
The conference served as a high-level forum to discuss the future of A&D manufacturing and the essential role of training. Panel sessions and
presentations sparked valuable discussions on several critical areas:
• Advanced Manufacturing Technologies: Detailed discussions were held on the implementation and future use of
advanced manufacturing technologies within the aerospace and defense industry.
• Certification Importance: Experts highlighted the crucial role of certification in manufacturing processes
to ensure compliance and quality within the high-stakes A&D environment.
• Strengthening Cooperation: A key focus was identifying future steps to strengthen
industry–academia cooperation to ensure a skilled workforce pipeline.
• AILEEN's Contribution: The panel sessions specifically discussed the AILEEN project and the vital
contribution of the CoVE to the aviation and aerospace industry, outlining the expected future steps and impact of these training
centers.
The successful event underscored the commitment of Turkish partners to addressing skills gaps and driving innovation in the
advanced manufacturing domain.
